Kinja'd!!!

So, earlier today, i was playing some Need For Speed: Shift 2, and trying to make the most badaas Golf GTI Mk1. And it's turns out it's only need a brand new brakes, tires, and brand new engine from the Mk6 GTI. The idea is, i want to swap the brand new Mk6 (or Mk7?) engine to the old GTI.

How Hard Can It Be? :D

This person is swapping a turbo R32 engine in theirs. So it's possible.

Wow.
I was thinking it's just a video game idiocity, because you can swap the V10 from the LFA to the IS-F or V10 from Audi R8 to Audi S3.

I don't think doing it is hard, doing it well so it doesn't fall apart might be.

Problem is cost...

But, I like this idea. Old VWs look so much better in a weird way.

In real life I don't think it fits under the bonnet height wise, possibly wrong, but it will be a bit of a squeeze if you look at the differences in size between the two cars.

Considering that someone dropped a Northstar V8 into a MkII (AND kept it FWD) I'd say it's pretty much doable.

Sorry about the crappy video, best I could find on short notice.

Yeah.

I mean, in the game, because i was such an idiot i didn't put a rollbar and new suspension, so everytime i near a bump the car rattles and i once crash it in laguna seca's corkscrew, real bad.

Yeah, it's more like honest, down to earth car for everyone.
I think the mk1 and 2 is the best looking golf.

Well, there has been V12 swapped Supras so I'd guess V10 swapped IS-F wouldn't be impossible either.

yeah.
We only need the donor tough. That's the very hard part.
And i guess it's impossible to fit a V10 in Audi S3's engine bay.

That's one hell of a golf there.

And the car looks clean, apart from the smokes.

Quick! If you get there before cops it's practically yours!

What comes to V10 S3, I think you would need to move the firewall quite a bit but its not impossible.

Hell yeah! :D

yeah, but i think if i want to build a V10 S3 i'll put the engine in the middle like Clio V6. Because racecar.

But on that game a V10 S3 is true track monster. It's really fast for a hatchback.

In real life a front engined V10 S3 would probably be quite understeer happy.

i put a 1.8t in my mk1. It wasn't too pricey and now it's silly fast, great on gas and reliable. I daily drove it for a few years after doing the swap.

As long as you can put an aftermarket ECU in it, or get the stock one to forget about 90% of the sensors and other controllers, then it'll be fine.
